The Cattle Market Hotel  was situated on Monks Road. This pub was present by 1849 and was previously known as The Farmers & Grazers Inn. The publican in 1872 was William Williams. from 1901 until his death in 1904 Richard Chapman. Publicans from 1949 to 1967 were Ken and Muriel Eastmead, having moved from The Falstaff Inn.
