The White Bear was situated on the corner
of Freeman Street and Albert Street. This pub closed in the 1960s. |

Previously known as The Fishing Dock Hotel.
Joseph Hall was the landlord in 1868. George Beel was landlord between 1878
and 1886. In December 1878 The landlord George Beel charged Isabella Waite
with stealing a glass and stirrer valued 6d. She was imprisoned for a few
hours. |
