The Gloucester Arms was situated at 113
Albert Street. In 1868 a full licence was granted to William Butt. In
1877 Mr. Parsons landlord, was fined 20s and 12s costs for permitting
drunkenness on his premises. In 1878 Mr. Atkinson, landlord was sent to
prison for 2 months for an aggravated assault on his wife. In 1883 Thomas
Ramskill, landlord was charged on two accounts with permitting drunkenness
in his house, fined 20s and 13s costs in one case and 20s and 11s cost in
second case. The pub was still open in 1958. |
