The Nags Head was situated at 1 Wharf Road. The
original pub was demolished in 1883 and rebuilt. It closed in the 1990s with
the lower floor being used as a restaurant with apartments on the upper
floor. Later used as the ethnic restaurant Gurkha Square. The publican in 1967 was Jim Davidson. |

This was my family pub. I was in the
RAF my younger sister had her wedding dress design business and my older
sister was an established designer and artist both brilliant in their
fields,
My family loved our time at the nags we loved our regulars the only reason
we left was my mother having a stroke. The support our customers gave my
family was awesome I thank grantham for that. What I can never for give is
the way Home Ales the brewery my family was tied to ripped off. My dad
obviously had mum as his greatest problem and he was stuffed. |
