The Angel Inn was situated on the corner of Chapel Staith and Silver Street. An old Danish chapel formed part of this pub. Present by 1828 when John Watson was the publican. It was used as a brokers shop following closure and has now been demolished. The Angel Inn was described as 'a house of notoriously bad character' during a licence transfer in 1870.
