Chestnut Horse

The Chestnut Horse was situated on Church Street. This pub was present by 1820 when the publican was Robert Thompson. It closed in 1908 following referral to the Compensation Authority, with £276 awarded to the owners, G & HR Hunt Brewers of Stamford and £26 to the publican, Mark Sanderson. It was later demolished with a private house built on the site in 1915.
