Imperial Hotel

The Imperial Hotel was situated on Mere Road.
I lived next door, at 128 mere rd, from 1970 till I was sixteen, in 1974. My mom Ada, known as Ann worked there as a barmaid, a chap named sohan Singhe ran the Imperial, previous to that, I believe he also Ran the pub on the corner of Catherine st and dysart way, the name slips my mind. Anyway apparently. He was the first person of Indian decent in the uk,to get to be a pub landlord, the main memory I have from those days , was when I went upstairs to hangout with his son Mark, and his German shepherd sank his teeth into my arm! Nevertheless I still have a great nostalgia to those youthfull days, I quite regularly make a detour to mere rd, and stare at the Imperial ,and my old house. Happy days!
