Sumners Hotel was situated on the junction of Deepdale Road and Watling Street Road. The new pub, also the Sumners, was built behind this building c1985 and opened before this was demolished for road widening to ease traffic. It was very popular with Preston North End football fans. The new Sumners has now also closed.
