Garricks Head

The Garricks Head was situated at 270 North Road. This pub was demolished in December 1964 along with most of the road.

Martin Jay 1962/1964 My parents were the last publicans to run the pub George and Joan Jay, I remember living there from 4 to 6 year old ,when it closed we moved back to Lostock hall where my dad became a active member of the lostock hall conservative club ,committee member and concert secretary.
John Dean 1964/1965 Just to say George Jay was not the last publican in actual fact the last publican was my father and mother Albert and Maisie Dean prior to the pub closure in 1965.
Elizabeth Clarke 1957/1965 My mum and dad worked for a number of landlords at the Garricks there names were George and Ethel Bingham my dad waited on mum cleaned the pub,most weekends I went to help her it was always a popular pub,on Sundays I would take the twins of the landlord to Sunday school at St Thomas`s
