The Empire Hotel was situated on Tithebarn Street and is the building on the right of the above photo. This pub was later known as The Jazz Bar and has now been converted into student accommodation (see photo below). The C&S brewery was a Blackpool company Catterall & Swarbrick which was bought out by Bass c1970.
