The Monkey Inn was situated on Gas Street. Publicans in the mid 1960s were Jim and Annie Smith.

The last landlord and landlady of the Monkey Inn Pub Oldham were Alwyn and Pat Hardaker. My mum and dad. The pub owned by Bass Charington on Gas Street was demolished for development of the area in the early 70s and a car park now stands on the site of the former pub.
