The Bulls Head was situated on George
Street. Present from c1750 to 1989, this was a busy town centre pub
that closed to make way for Spindles Centre. It was mentioned in the House
of Commons during the Peterloo massacre as soldiers were billeted there when
a fight broke out and several people lost their lives |
