The Halfway House was situated on Ashton Old Road. The pub closed in 2009 and the building was then used as a gym followed by a computer store. Badly damaged by fire, it was demolished in 2019.

Graham Bunt 1961/1967 My mum and Dad Eveline and Claude Bunt were managers at the Halfway House. They moved to Winsford Cheshire and took over the White Swan
