The Moorlands Hotel was situated on Quarry Road. This pub closed in 2012. This was once a Mitchell's of Lancaster tied house - the company still exists but their old Brewery was demolished to make way for a cinema and the one once owned by rivals Yates & Jackson has been empty for years. Mitchell's has sold this building to a developer to convert into accommodation for the city's Universities.
