Bushells Arms

The Bushells Arms was situated on Church Lane.
This pub was present by the late 18th century when it was known as The Ship. Its name was changed to The Bushells Arms c1815 in recognition of the work of Dr Thomas Bushell, the vicar of Heysham who bequeathed his estate to the founding of the local hospital in 1735.
