The Bristol was used as a watering hole
by many well known acts who appeared at the Assembly Hall. My brother and I
saw Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen there around 1971, after one of the most
amazing concerts I have ever witnessed. We managed a few words with him
before the Courier wanted to speak to him. In the Courier next week he was
quoted as saying 'I wish we had recorded that'. I saw him again at the
delightful Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne, about a year before he died. |
