Bristol Arms

The Bristol Arms was situated at 66 Calverley Road

Source: Darkstar
The Bristol was used as a watering hole by many well known acts who appeared at the Assembly Hall. My brother and I saw Kenny Ball and his Jazzmen there around 1971, after one of the most amazing concerts I have ever witnessed. We managed a few words with him before the Courier wanted to speak to him. In the Courier next week he was quoted as saying 'I wish we had recorded that'. I saw him again at the delightful Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne, about a year before he died.
