The Rose Inn was situated at 50 High Street.
This was a major coaching inn
in its day on the main London to Dover route. Queen Victoria stayed here
whilst still a Princess in
1825 and
the pub was subsequently renamed for
a while the Royal Victoria Hotel. More recently it served
as a Wimpey fast food outlet. |
