The Good Intent was situated at 3 John Street. This pub closed on 31st January 2020  to be demolished for housing development. Dating back to 1838, this community local was reconstructed to ‘face the other way’ when the terraced streets of Troy Town were replaced by tower blocks. To the end, it was a popular venue for live music, morris dancing and other activities.
