Von Alton

The Von Alton was situated at 63 High Street.
This pub closed in 2004 and has remained
empty since then. It was previously known as the Gaslamp. |
|
I can
remember, in the late 80s, when Norman ran the pub, it was so busy,
solicitors and office workers packing the pub at lunchtime, and a good
local mix of trade in the evenings, and weekends, especially Sunday, as an
overspill from the Ship.
Makes you wonder why such
pubs cease to trade.
