The Railway Hotel was situated on the High Street. This pub and surrounding
buildings were destroyed by bombing during 1944 & 1945. After the war the
area was not rebuilt on and eventually became Beckenham Green, a landscaped
area set aside as a tribute to Beckenham people who lost their lives and
livelihoods during the war. |
