The Nelson was situated on Stanhope Road. This pub was originally known as The Ben Truman, then Benz. When it was taken over by the popular heavyweight wrestler, Danny Lynch, it was going to be named The Half Nelson, however it was decided at the last minute to shorten it to The Nelson. This pub has now been demolished.
