Royal Oake

The Royal Oake was situated at 63 High Street. Probably the oldest building in Ware High Street, dating from the 14th century, it was rebuilt in 1624 to include a Roman Catholic chapel. It became the Royal Oake Inn after the restoration of King Charles II in 1660.
