The Royal Oake was situated at 63 High Street.
Probably the oldest building in Ware High Street, dating from the 14th
century, it was rebuilt in 1624 to include a Roman Catholic chapel. It
became the Royal Oake Inn after the restoration of King Charles II in 1660. |
