The Red Lion was situated on
Waterside. This pub is now in private residential use. |
|
The publican of the Red Lion in the
1960s was Dennis Duffield-Hill with his wife Freda. Dennis was very sociable
and his pub was always crowded at the weekend. Beer was served directly from
the barrels located in the cellar and the piano playing soon led to loud
communal singing. Many regulars had their individual beer mugs hanging above
the bar. A great pub much missed. |
