The Harbour Light
was situated at 25 Harcourt Road. |

When I was young back in 1962 ,we had
just moved from a caravan in Oxhey [Watford] to a house in Bushey on a new
housing estate just completed. My dads local was The Harbour Light and we
often went there in the evenings and on Sunday mornings. I seem to remember
that children were allowed in the Saloon Bar but not in the Public Bar. I
was allowed a half pint of Shandy. The pub was quite modern looking and it
was opposite Readings Junior School which I attended. We often met our new
neighbours there who had moved from Watford to the new estate. I also recall
being sent down to the Off Licence to get the money back on Cream Soda
bottles. Fond memories of Bushey. |
