No's 137 and 139 are grade-II listed. No 139 is described by the Town Council as a 16th century inn, one of three old coaching inns which stand side by side in the centre of the town, each with a way through to a yard behind. The Swan is now a meeting place and sheltered accommodation for young people. Searching directories, in 1890-95 Henry James Foster Swan Inn High Street is listed with in 1895 Foster Bros. Brewers Swan brewery High Street. The only Swan I can find in 1899 is a ‘P.H.’ in South Street but contemporary maps show it in High Street. From 1902 to 1914 the Swan Inn is addressed as 113 High Street with the following managers, 1902 Frank Smith, 1908 Henry James Foster, 1914 Caradoc E Jones.
