The Plume Of Feathers
was situated adjacent to the Westgate and addressed variously as High
Street, Upper High Street and Tower Street. An old inn, known prior to the
1790s as The Fighting Cocks, it was extended in 1889. It was sold to
Hampshire County Council c1937, and closed, to allow Queen Elizabeth Court
to be built and the road to pass round the Westgate. |
