The

This used to be the art school
and fire station pub of choice. The gents toilet wall had some very esoteric
graffiti. A facsimile of the wall appeared on the cover of an early 70s
comic/fanzine/journal produced by painting students. I only went in there
once (1973?) but beer was considerably cheaper than London prices at that
time. A friend told me that there were weekday afternoon lock ins when the
landlord would leave trusted customers in the garden while he went shopping
and just told them to make sure to pay for their drinks. |
