Lake Superior

The Lake Superior was situated at 59 Marlborough Road. This pub has now been split into two private residences.

Last visit to the IOW was my "gap week" before university in 1976. On that trip I camped with a school mate and had a week of pleasant mayhem. We have, surprisingly, several memories and one was of popping into the Lake Superior, Ryde. We had decided that each new pub we visited would mean partaking of a drink we had not previously had in our lives. The landlord of the Lake Superior was most surprised when 2 denim and leather clad long haired youngsters ordered a Campari and a Madeira. This was lunchtime on our way to a Sassafrass gig in Ryde. Shame it is no longer a pub.
