Jolly Sailor

The Jolly Sailor was situated at 125 The Causeway, having closed in 2004. Demolished in  2010 and about to be replaced by flats.

Was situated on the old A3, London to Portsmouth (the maritime connection in the name?) road, probably built in the 1930s, largely unchanged and with many original features and furnighings until it closed. It might have by now even qualified as a ‘heritage’ pub. With through traffic taking the Petersfield by-pass, although in the midst of new housing, the pub was very quiet before it closed, obviously destined for redevelopment.
