The Hurstbourne

The Hurstbourne was situated at 34 Longparish Road. This pub has now been converted into three houses.
Until at least the late 1970's the name of the pub was The Portsmouth Arms.  It was never a very busy pub, and the acquisition of many houses in the village by weekenders from London only accelerated that trend. I never used it as The Hurstbourne, but used it sometimes as The Portsmouth Arms. When it became The Hurstbourne I believe it basically became a restaurant rather than a pub.
