The picture is my mother and father. My mother held the
licence as my father was still serving in the navy . This was a beer
house no spirits could be sold .We used to put a bench outside the door
so workers from the gas works across the road ( where Asda is) to have a
pint and eat their sandwiches, especially those who worked on the retort
ovens. |
