The Sea Horse was situated at 15 Upper Maudlin
Street. This pub was present by 1861 when the publican was Caleb Goode. |

For many years this pub was called the Eglington Arms before reverting to
its former name. It was taken on by Smiles Brewery just over the road in
Colston Street and virtually acted as their brewery tap. All the while,
though, it was owned by the hospital with a view to redevelopment. The shell
of the front half of the pub remains, oddly with its pub name still in
evidence. |
