The Lions Den was situated on Little
Clacton Road. Originally known as The Earl Grey, it is now in residential
use, with new bungalows built on the car park. |

In the sixties myself and my younger
twin brothers, under ten all of us, spent many a happy hour watching William
Boyd in Hopalong Cassidy films in an outbuilding attached to the pub whilst
our mum and dad had a sherbet in the pub. It was called Kate's kinema. We
stayed in an ex army Bell tent in gt.holland. I remember sterilised milk as
there was no fridge. |
