The Rising Sun was situated on Hythe Station Road.

This pub was present by 1789 and closed in 1995, quickly falling into a very decrepit condition.  As with many Colchester pubs, it had passed from the Colchester Brewing Company to Ind Coope in the 1930s, although it ended its days as a Greene King house.
