The Castle Inn was situated at 125 North Station Road. This pub was present by 1700 and closed in 1956.  It is now in hotel and restaurant use. In the early nineteenth century this was a Cobbold Brewery pub, then passing through the hands of the Colchester Brewing Company and on to Ind Coope by the time of closure.
