The Westbury Arms was situated at 174 Ripple
Road. |
|
This pub was built in 1899 on the site of the
former Hand & Bowl. The licence was
obtained by the surrender of the licence of the
Rose. It closed in 2001 and at 2010 was still closed and boarded up.
Various planning applications to turn it into flats have failed.
During riots in August 2011 the Westbury Arms was set on fire and now just
the shell remains. |

A new development is in the process of being
built on the site of the Westbury Arms. I understand that it will be shops o
the ground floor with flats above. |
