The New Inn was situated on Sandhill. This pub opened in the early 19th century, the first publican being John Cowen. The last Court of the Manor of Winlaton was held here in 1851. It was used to billet troops during WW2 and was destroyed by fire towards the end of the war and demolished in 1949.
