Stag & Dragon

|
The Stag & Dragon was situated at
Sedgefield Railway Station, which stood 1.5 miles west of the town and opened
to passengers in 1935. It stood on the site of a goods depot which operated
from a century before. Until the 1850s there was a public house on the site
named the Stag and Dragon. It can be seen on OS maps from the late 1850s but
disappears thereafter. Today the site is occupied by a house which was
formerly the Station Master's residence. |
