The Fighting Cocks was situated on Darlington Road. This pub was known as Platform 1 at time of closure. This pub was present when the Stockton to Darlington Railway line opened in 1825, and was used as a Coal Depot, Ticket Office, and Inn for this first public railway line, the bi-centenary of which occurs in 2025.
