This pub closed c1966 when it was
demolished to make way for a new road. The brewery that supplied the beers
and presumably owned it at that time was Camerons of Hartlepool. The last
landlords were Jack and Mary Todd, who transferred to The Rose Tree at
Shincliffe, another Camerons house. There were two public rooms: bar and
lounge; the lounge was licenced to serve drinks to people who ordered food
after the bar had closed as it had a supper licence. Sandwiches were served
here. Beers served were Strongarm and Best Bitter. |
