The Castle Inn was situated at 44 South Street. This pub closed in March 1914 when the licence was refused by the Borough Justices, with compensation of £641 19s 6d paid to the publican J.Strickland. This was converted to residential use following closure and later demolished. A retail unit now stands on the site.
