Cornwalls Gate was situated at 71 Normandy Way. This pub closed on 23rd January 2011 and was demolished in 2013.

I'm ex Landlady of the above public House. I hate seeing pictures of if in such a derelict state.
We had the pub painted white and green. I painted the crest. And it was a bit like Challenge Anika with locals helping to prepare st the last minute because of rain to get it ready for the Lord Mayor opening an event with The Band of The USA Air Forces playing as The Glen Miller Band raising funds for the Helping Hands Trust a charity helping families of disabled children. The last bit of scaffolding came down as the Lord Mayor's Car drove in the other side of the carpark.
Our barman Mike had his ponytail cut off to raise money. Local bands took to the stage the following day.
We had many sports teams and regular musical entertainment. We were used for private functions wedding reception and Christenings.
