The White Lion was situated at 128 Market Street. This pub was demolished in 2014, with a retail store built on the site. Run by my great-grandmother Someone Wilkinson, my grandpa Albert and my grandma Gertrude née Stacey lived there. My dad Graham was born there 25 September 1924. My grandpa had a “market stall” at the front, before he bought a shop and house opposite.
