The Duke Of Wellington was situated at 22 Main Road. This pub has now been converted into flats.

My uncle and aunt kept the Duke of Wellington pub in Shirland in the 1950s. Their names were Charlie and Rene Croft. I remember staying with them in the pub when I was a little girl. They moved to The Horse and Groom in Linby, Notts and were there for around 25 years until retiring in about 1982
