The Flowerpot Inn was situated on Chapel Street. This pub was known as The Black Flag in the 1920s. It was a large Shipstones tied house that was popular with most age groups until town planners decided to build an Ilkeston town centre by pass. The pub was demolished in the 1990s and it is now a car park.
