Blue Pool

The Blue Pool was situated on Stenson Road. Built in 1936 by Offilers Brewery as part of its "Blue theme", the others being the Blue Peter at Alvaston Derby and the Blue Boy at Chaddesden Derby. It was designed by George Morley Eaton in Art Deco style and it was supposed to have a swimming pool at the back , however plans were delayed and the outbreak of  WWII stopped  the plans altogether. It is now a Tesco Express store, having closed in 2009.
