This pub was demolished in the 1960s. Publican
in 1871 was Joseph Roome, in 1881 Samuel Roome, in 1935 William Poole. |

Apart
from the brewery tap (The Balm Tub, attached to the brewery) the pub was the
only tied house of John Hair & Son Brewery, Melbourne, Derby. Leased by the
brewery from 1925 until the brewery was acquired by Offiler’s of Derby in
1954, and closed (brewery building still standing in Church Street,
Melbourne). |
