My grandfather William Whitehall was the owner
of The Roebuck Hotel, Derby, UK in the 1920s/1930s (unsure of dates). It was
closed in 2007 and later demolished. My son and his partner visited and
retrieved a little part of it and brought it back home to Australia in 2007.
My father Eric Whitehall told us many times about his bedroom in the pub. My
other 2 children have also visited The Roebuck in year’s gone by.
My family Eric & Nellie Whitehall emigrated to Australia in 1954 with four
children under the age of nine. Me being the eldest, turning 9 on the voyage
over here, I remember so much about it. I have never visited the pub, but
glad that children did. |
