My great
grandmother was the publican in 1935. She was called Clara Beresford.. After
that date for a short while my mother lived there. It was run by her father,
WP Thompson. He had just retired as captain of Nottingham Forest football
club for whom he played 396 times. He was a very well known sporting
personality. He represented England Schoolboys at football and went on an FA
tour to South Africa in 1929. Any photos or stories would be just great.
