junction of Upper South Street and Uttoexeter Old Road.
This pub was present by 1857 when the publican was Jonathan Brentnall. It has now been demolished. |

In 1958 the landlady was Lucy Ellis. She went on to run the Ram Inn in
Bridge Street. Her stepson ran the Rose & Crown at Brailsford and the Yew
Tree at Ednaston |
